The Dyson vacuum cleaner is a good D17, but it is a bit on the pricey side for some, retails for around $ 450. The price would bejustified if there are some features that really made this device stand out, but there were really none. I bought this a few years ago when I lived in a house that had stairs. This little devil did wonders cleaning up the cat hair from my couch and stairs, however it had such a high pitch scream to it, I couldn't use it without earplugs! The cord is long enough to get to the top of the stairs with no problem. Sooo much easier than carrying my upright up the stairs! I don't use it as much anymore since I have moved to a single story home. I just use the attachments on my regular vacuum cleaner for the couch. Also, using a pair of regular cleaning rubber gloves,(Like the yellow ones to wash dishes) and rubbing my hands across the couch pulls the cat hair up like a magnet!
