I got this after trying out and returning a cheap Elta I saw at the BX. It was 1/4 the price but this hand vac is easily 4 times better and worth every penny. I can't say how long the battery lasts but the suction is very strong and it looks great. It's a bit bulky compared to other hand vacuums but because of the small size and rotary action of the nozzle, it gets everywhere you need and it's not too heavy. I am in a very dusty location and got it to keep a small dorm space picked up of crumbs and rogue hairs. It sucks up just about anything that will fit through the nozzle including bottle cap wrapper seals. The shelf packaging comes inside a Black & Decker shipping box that is about 13"x13"x8". After the required initial 21 hour charge it was ready to go. The light on the charging base stays lit any time the unit is docked and doesn't turn off to indicate that it has a "full charge." The manual says it can be docked indefinitely without warnings about overcharging. The charging plug is 110/120v only and not universal voltage. I charged it on a step-down transformer where I'm pretty sure the power output is still the input 50Hz and not the usual American 60Hz.
I decided on this one after seeing some mixed reviews of the newer B&D PHV1810. That one looks like they trimmed some bulk from the core, maybe some weight too. That wasn't important to me especially as it sounded like it didn't perform up to this one.
Best ever - momsher - We have had many handvacs over the years. This one replaced an absolutely HORRIBLE 1 1/2 year old Dyson handvac. The Black and Decker is amazing - 10 times the suction power of the Dyson, easy to clean, and the battery actually lasts for quite a while. I would recommend this to anyone (especially those frustrated with the performance of other handvacs).

I was looking for a F4 filter replacement to fit into the filter adapter (part 1-ME1960-B00) on my Dirt Devil Extreme power hand vacuum. This product is actually the filter adapter combined with the filter itself. It's a perfect match for replacing the filter in this vacuum - only the color is white instead of grey like what was in my hand vac. Works great!
Didn't quite fit my Dirt Devil Extreme Power hand vac - E. Mukai - Price was right but when the filters arrived, they didn't fit. I had to mutilate them and cut in a little bit to make them fit my current vacuum cleaner but they do the job. I wish the description were precise. Maybe these filters fit other models but definitely not the model as specified.

We have four cats & two dogs. Recently bought a new sofa & loveseat in chocolate brown chenille. After two weeks it looked like it was sprouting hair so we bought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser handheld. Very powerful little sucker and it got all the pet hair. Easy to clean - just pop the nose off and dump. I tucked it away in a basket under my coffee table so I can zip it out for quick pickups. A little detail that makes it especially nice is the velcro strap attached to the cord so you can wrap it securely. For the price, it's a nice vacuum for a specific job.
Hard to find filters - Patricia Neville - I have used this product for over a year and really like it's power. It is loud, but most vacuums are. Great for removing cat hair from furniture. Unfortunately, you have to buy the entire filter unit (screen and pleated HEPA filter) and they cost about each and hard to find. The instruction booklet advises you NOT to wash the pleated filter. That is the only downside of this product and if it weren't for the filter issue, I would have rated it a "5".

We bought this one to replace one we got two years ago. We primarily like it because of it's design and can be place out in the open on our kitchen counter. Also, it is very easy to disconnect from the charger and turn on the power. The chocolatte color is very compatible with our color scheme, granite counter and the cabinets, which it easily fits under.
No FIVE STARS because we had to replace the first one after two years. It would no longer recharge enough to give the vaccuuming power needed to be effective.
Needless to say, we liked it enough to get another one. We have notice a different model number on the new issue and hope it means a longer life product.

Nice looking but functionally worthless - Alexander Gruber - Chicago, IL USA I bought this vac a year or so ago, and have regretted it ever since. Like most people I purchased this one in particular because I was attracted to the aesthetics. It still looks good, but that is absolutely all it does.
The thing won't hold a charge for longer than about a minute before its sucking power reduces to a pathetically useless level. It won't pick up objects larger than crumbs, and even that is a stretch sometimes with the heavier crumbs. (Seriously.) It has a vent on the side that sprays out air right in the direction of anything you're trying to vacuum, exacerbating the mess more than cleaning it up.
I spent extra money to get a vac that would look pretty when not in use, but it turns out all I got was a 60 dollar paperweight. It is COMPLETELY USELESS as a vacuum cleaner. I wish I had bought a cheaper, uglier vacuum cleaner - at least then it would be functional.
