- Black and Decker Cyclonic Filters 2-PACK
- Regularly replaced filters improve vacuum performance
- Fits Black and Decker Dustbuster cordless rechargeable hand vacuum series CHV
Works as intended - Mashif - Nashville, TN USA
As a hand vac with attachments it seems to do a great job. It doesn't replace a full size vac, but for reaching small areas, and getting up pet hair, it's ideal.
GREAT LITTLE VACUUM - Tessa Centeio -
this little vacuum is so powerful!! It works wonderful with and without the attachments. It's even gotten my 7 year old to want to vacuum his room an everything else because its so powerful and fun to use. I would recommend buying the extra filters along with the vacuum as I can see them not lasting very long. I plan on buying the filters today, just to have them on hand, because I would hate to not be able to use it just because I ran out of filters. And I plan on using it alot. Works awesome on hardwood stairs and carpet. I love it!!!
great power,poor design. - trickydick -
Great power, poor design. needs accessories like the HV9010 brush. There's a little area above the inlet that collects debris that is difficult to remove. Great suction though. Accessories from the HV9010 should be included.
Hard to find filters - Patricia Neville -
I have used this product for over a year and really like it's power. It is loud, but most vacuums are. Great for removing cat hair from furniture. Unfortunately, you have to buy the entire filter unit (screen and pleated HEPA filter) and they cost about each and hard to find. The instruction booklet advises you NOT to wash the pleated filter. That is the only downside of this product and if it weren't for the filter issue, I would have rated it a "5".
EXCELENT.! - MCI -
works great! have 2 dogs...my car was full of hairs...and this device did the job...5 stars!
Do not buy it! - Ching Juhl - New York, NY United States
It sure looks good, but does not do a thing. I have returned one (no suction) and the 2nd one is just as bad as the first one. Don't buy it.
Nice looking but functionally worthless - Alexander Gruber - Chicago, IL USA
I bought this vac a year or so ago, and have regretted it ever since. Like most people I purchased this one in particular because I was attracted to the aesthetics. It still looks good, but that is absolutely all it does.
The thing won't hold a charge for longer than about a minute before its sucking power reduces to a pathetically useless level. It won't pick up objects larger than crumbs, and even that is a stretch sometimes with the heavier crumbs. (Seriously.) It has a vent on the side that sprays out air right in the direction of anything you're trying to vacuum, exacerbating the mess more than cleaning it up.
I spent extra money to get a vac that would look pretty when not in use, but it turns out all I got was a 60 dollar paperweight. It is COMPLETELY USELESS as a vacuum cleaner. I wish I had bought a cheaper, uglier vacuum cleaner - at least then it would be functional.
Do not buy. Do not buy. Do not buy.
Love my dyson - Brody -
I have had an upright Dyson Animal for about 8 years. You will have to pry it from my hands after I die. I am sure it will still be running strong long after the world ends. I am so happy to finally have a hand held vac that works as well as the upright. The 6 minute battery life is plenty long enough to do the quick pickups I use it for. I strongly recommend any of the Dyson Vacuums.
Overpriced Junk - Deborah - USA
I actually bought the one that costs 7. What a poorly thought out piece of junk! Do NOT waste your money. First off, the charge only lasts 3 minutes! That's right, THREE minutes! And I didn't even use the turbo function. You have never seen anyone clean as fast as I did. I tried anyway. But it was impossible. The air vents are situated in such a way that what you're trying to clean, pet hair, gets blown all over the place! In your eyes, nose, mouth, and the area you just cleaned. It's ridiculous. You spend half your time vacuuming the hair flying in the air! Then the brush head is a joke. It has maybe 3 or 4 widely disbursed brush tufts (I don't what you call them). Pathetic! Then the shape pf the thing makes it impossible to get in tight areas. I have 2 house rabbits that live in a big 2-story condo. I kid you not, I couldn't get even half of the bottom floor cleaned before it goes out. What a joke! Then, when I call to see about returning it, they tell me they will not pay for postage! So I'm out .00 for the pleasure of being lied to and ripped off! Thanks Dyson. You'll never see me buying a thing from this company, EVER again! I'm writing this to warn everyone else. Had anyone been kind enough to warn me, I could've saved myself a lot of grief and money. Never again.
Design and Functionality - aon ledoma -
Bought one and it was dead on purchase. But my review isn't strictly based on it being dead. I already know this thing has good suction. 15v is already a lot better than a 10v and even the old school 7v have good enough suction for simple clean up. Power isn't the issue here. Most of my critique are personal preferences relating to design and functionality.
The dirt cup capacity is really disappointingly small compared to other hand vacs, like less then a cup.
The filter is comprised with a wire mess and behind it, the regular paper filter. Interesting design as less will get caught in the paper filter going through the first wire filter (however the first filter takes up more then half of the dirt cup, causing the small dirt capacity). The rinse to clean the filter is a great feature, although I would still do that with other hand vac filters. The wire mesh pre-filter is a really great idea, and I would consider to put them in other hand vacs, because I can see it being very useful for fur, string, and hair. Further increases the life of the paper filters.
The overall design is kind of fatty. I like longer style hand vacs.
The overall look and feel of the quality is below average, specially when you consider the built in crevice tool.
The built in crevice tool is cheap and does not slide with ease, causing me to pinch my palm when I was forcing it back in.
Dirt cup spring ejection is nice, making emptying simple, but I can see this being really annoying if the spring was to break.
Because of it's fatty design, it feels heavier, as more weight is centralized in one area, than dispersed.
Power terminal and power switch feel cheap compared to the rest of the unit.
So far so good... - Kee - Usa
After an issue with our Shark pet hand vac not being able to charge anymore, we found this. I am not particularly fond of the color red in general and we all know DD's are a very bright, blinding red. I have used it before the 24 hour charge period, and naturally it began to die on me. Why its not almost fully charged already concerns me, to say the least. I do not recall receiving the brush attachment with the product.
Pros:
It seems to pick up nicely and have good suction power for the price.
The filter is washable and so is the dirt cup.
The charging port is on the back of the handle, not on the underside like other products.. This is much more convenient.
__________________________________________________
Cons:
Takes a long time to charge
The dirt cup is small, but this isn't really a big deal for me because when I'm cleaning I always keep a large trash can or trash bag with me at all times and can empty it frequently. This could however, be a problem for others.
The bright red color is hideous, but that's what Dirt Devil makes their products in.
That gray tight corners tool that comes out doesn't stay out. You have to manually hold it out or it will pop back in for no reason. I don't particularly like the fact that this tool is put in there like that.. Its very inconvenient when you're cleaning and it goes in and out, in and out.
The top that you empty by pressing the two silver side buttons doesn't always latch down and it happened to open mid cleaning and spill its contents all over the stairs on me.. Nice.
Its big and bulky and definitely not user friendly. I prefer the skinnier vacuums.
Very Powerful, 1 small caveat - S. Smith - Yorktown Heights, NY
I have had the Dyson for about a month or so now and I give the device a lot of praise. Definitely the most powerful little hand-held vac around. I purchased it because I have two cats that shed a decent amount all over the furniture and it does the job in terms of removing the pet hair. The only small complaint I have is that hair can get caught up behind the gear in the housing of cleaning brush extension after use in a significantly dirty area. It required some dismantling and use of tweezers to get at and remove the hair but it was a fairly simple process. Other than that small nag, no complaints here!
Fast and Cleans Like a Dream Come True! - T. Isobel S. - Merrifield, VA United States
This is my third Dyson Animal (I bought the 1st gen. upright and then I bought the Dyson DC25 Animal Ball, because it's so much easier to maneuver whilst being in a wheelchair). I love them all, but being able to pick up the Dyson DC31 Animal handheld and quickly dust before visitors arrive is just priceless. I have a cat and the Dyson DC31 Animal takes care of all cat-related fur, missed treats, & any stray litter bits. I love the Dyson's power and I'm able to clean my living room, kitchen, dining room, foyer, and almost my bedroom & bath on one charge.
The manual recommends cleaning the filter monthly. I thought it was going to be a chore. Ha! Cleaning the filter = "user friendly". No manual needed at all. I popped the unit open and the filter itself has images of a faucet on it. Brilliant!
I can't recommend the DC31 Animal handheld highly enough.
Metro Vac 12500 - R. Zachary Abel - Chicago, IL
Great suction power, light weight and does a very good job. I probably wouldn't buy the Vac N Blow, rather, just the Vac N Go, unless you want the pumping capability the "Blow" option offers. I would highly recommend it.
Metro Vacuum VM12500 Vac N Blow 500 Watt - N. Grammer - Tacoma, WA United States
I found the product cumbursome to maneuver and the suction diminished after about 5 minutes of vacuuming. The hose wasn't long enough which caused the vacuum to get josteled around while I vacuumed. Using the attachments directly attached made it difficult to get around the tighter spaces. I was disppointed that it did not meet my expectation and I ended up returning it.
misleading - TJ - AZ
This attachment kit does not fit the Metro Vacuum that shows up on the also bought section and the buy all and save section. The attachment kit I got had round attachment ends and the vacuum had square attachment ends.
very happy with vacuum attachment - rockedout -
I couldn't believe how much dog hair this attachment sucked out of my laptop keyboard. I never could have done that with the canned air or even a mini vacuum with very little suction.
Would have really liked a set of instructions for the different nozzles.
Helps with cleaning computer - Ken - Seattle WA
This is exactly what I was looking for to blow out the internal areas of computers - the tools fit on standard vacuum and funnel air to small tool to increase force whether you are vacuuming or blowing. Price is cheap - great value to keep computer dust free - a major enemy of computers.
One of Eureka's innovations is the Riser Visor, a clear plastic cover that stays down for cleaning horizontal surfaces and flips up so the revolving brush can reach the vertical carpet on stair risers. There's no bag to change, just a filter and clear plastic dust cup to shake out when necessary. --Ann Bieri
Perfect for Stairs - RSM -
I have recently retired and cancelled my cleaning service. I was looking for something to clean my stairs without having to drag the regular vacuum up and down the stairs. The Eureka Hand-Held is perfect for this. It is powerful, light enough in weight, and I love the way it cleans all parts of each stair tread.
love it - momma2two -
this is the best handheld vaccum i have used. it has great suction, is light and just easy to use. i would def recommend this to everyone looking for this style vaccum
Flaming Piece of Horse Manure - J. Plummer - Pennsylvania
I bought this back in 04 and while it barely worked back then, it completely doesn't work today. From the first time we used it, it was awful. The suction has always been pitiful, but perhaps maybe the charger is garbage. I let it charge all night the other day, and it weakly buzzed and stopped in 3 seconds. Cheap trash. Don't buy this.
Very Good - Halo's Mother -
This vacuum is just what I wanted. I had one for many many years and it finally needed to be replaced. I was happy to be able to find one.
hand held vac - M. Nguyen -
this is more powerful than I had expected and is easy to use, charge, etc. but it is still not as powerful as a corded vacuum. It is absolutely wonderful for the interior of my car, but it doesn't have the power to clean my stair carpet runner beneath the brass rods on each step.
vacuum is compact and powerful - mark twain - tucson AZ usa
vacuum is compact and powerful. The unit is great for cars, and other hard to reach places.
We are very happy with the product and the vendor.
Good until it wears out - then it's a disaster - Blacky - Gotham
The good reviews about this vac are from people whose batteries haven't worn out yet. Yes - it's a very strong vacuum and picks up and traps fine particle dust. It's screams like a banshee while it's doing it though. The real problem with this machine comes when its battery life is over. That's when you discover that the battery is hard wired to the motor and the only way to replace it is buy a motor/battery combo which costs more than the original unit. As you can imagine, not many replacements are sold - so the consequence is, after a couple years use, the 'sucker' is going to spend how many hundred years in a land fill? And who's gonna clean that up?
Overrated - Connie1998 -
Received this product as a gift and am very disappointed with it. I have hardwood floors so I basically use it to clean the furniture and clean area rugs in the house. Although it does have good suction power and a long cord, it is very loud and gets very hot after only seconds of use. It constantly overheats and shuts itself off leaving me having to wait hours until it cools down for use again. Emptying out the bag after use is a bit difficult and I usually have to use an old toothbrush to scrape off the dust. Good thing I didn't have to pay for this!
Dangerous, Don't Buy - Dont_buy_it -
We had this vacuum for about 3 weeks until it had an internal problem and it quit working. It started sparking near the motor and then a bright light and that was the end of it. We hardly used it and when we did it was only for a few minutes. What a waste of money, thanks for the piece of junk.
metro vac good item, but warning... - mrs. jasperson -
It is nice looking sturdy and light-weight metal, has lots of suction power, the cord is long (I still have to add another extension to be able to reach the entire car), it is not rechargeable, does not plug into your car, and the attachments come off too easily. It makes me nervous vacuuming because I know the attachments are going to pop off no matter how hard I push them on to the nozzle - it drives me bonkers once I get going - and over the noise (it's very loud) one can hear my annoyance. I have duct tape holding the attachments on. It heats up quickly and limits the usage time, as I am worried the motor will strain and burn out. Also you must buy a hose separately (if you feel you need it) and the small bags must also be purchased (but it comes with two) however bags are more hygienic. I am generally pleased with this little vac (it is moderately powerful) and I also use it to clean lint traps, pet hair, drapes and mattresses. Except for the #@*#ing attachments coming off it is good, but I would have priced it more fairly at not .
Good but has some issues - E. David - Los Angeles
I bought this vac mainly to use on the interior of my car but unfortunately it's plagued with a some issues:
1. The power cord is so short as to be useless. So plan on always keeping an extension cord hooked up to it.
2. It is very awkward to hold by it's handle in tight places like the floor of your car, under seats, etc, so I end up just holding it by it's body... which is not ideal.
3. The main, wide attachment does not stay on tight and is constantly falling off the vacuum... extremely annoying.
4. The air exhausting out of the back of the vacuum is so strong you wonder if the vacuuming you're doing is effective at all or if you're just creating a typhoon. ( I realize this is the result of the unit's strong motor and suction but with the vac being so compact, there's no way to direct the outgoing airflow in a different direction.)
It does have a couple redeeming qualities though... it seems very sturdy. And it looks cool!
But if you are buying a vac for car care you might want to explore some other options.
Run and hide - this thing just vaccums your time and money! - Lyrce -
Don't be fooled by the slick look and packaging.
Or the supposed voltage. I followed the instructions to the letter and only once got 5 minutes of power - after that, 30 seconds to not a peep heard. Can you vacuum in 30 seconds or less? And then wait 8 hours for a powerup? Me neither. Have never ever enjoyed returning something so much. Move on .... nothing to see here.
Shark Cordless is terrible - Tech Fan - NY
This is the worst handheld vacuum I have ever had. It looks great in the pictures and the idea of a powerful motor is very appealing. They just forgot that it is supposed to be a vacuum! There are multiple, serious design flaws. First, the nozzle has a rounded opening instead of a rectangular opening. This means it is almost impossible to get it flat on the ground, so it doesn't have strong suction and doesn't pick up much of anything. There are two attachments, a powered brush which spins so slowly it is useless and a reduction nozzle. The brush just knocks dirt around. It was totally ineffective on the carpet, tile or in the car. The reduction nozzle has the same problem as the main nozzle, namely it is round, not flat, so it is very hard to get it properly aligned when using on a flat surface like a counter or the floor. The charging stand is also flawed. It does not hold the vacuum firmly so if you put it in a high traffic area, you are likely to knock the vacuum out of the holder and it will fall and break. Service is in India and though they were very courteous, it is very, very difficult to deal with them due to the scripts they work from and their lack of empowerment.
This product has a great look, but when it comes time to use, it fails miserably. I would never recommend this product to anyone.
Underpowered & Short Batter Live - Dr. R. Lookatch - Bloomington, IN
This is a big clunky and expensive vacuum but I Liked the nmhd battery idea. Fund it lacks vacuum power and the battery dies pretty fast and when it dies, the machine shuts down; no lower power time. I am buying a chorded unit.
LOVE my new DYSON - DIANA M PAWLIK -
Super powered and effective -- not sure why it took me so long to get one! Definitely delivers on prodcut performance and stands head and shoulders above the rest. LOVE IT!
Small Jobs - Jeffrey F. Henderson -
This product last only 6-10 minutes on a 3 hour charge. However it does a great job until it needs to be charged up again. The 6-10 minutes is detailed in the instructions not in the item discription.
