I bought this a few years ago when I lived in a house that had stairs. This little devil did wonders cleaning up the cat hair from my couch and stairs, however it had such a high pitch scream to it, I couldn't use it without earplugs! The cord is long enough to get to the top of the stairs with no problem. Sooo much easier than carrying my upright up the stairs! I don't use it as much anymore since I have moved to a single story home. I just use the attachments on my regular vacuum cleaner for the couch. Also, using a pair of regular cleaning rubber gloves,(Like the yellow ones to wash dishes) and rubbing my hands across the couch pulls the cat hair up like a magnet!

I bought the Dirt Devil 100 to use in my motor home. It works great to pick up not only dirt but hair for my short haired dog. I've also used in on upholstery with very good results. It's light enough to handle with ease, has good suction, and the "beater bar" is very effective. At the price, it is a really good value.
