With dramatically improved navigation, cleaning coverage, vacuum pickup, and particle filtration, the Roomba 530 vacuuming robot picks up amazing amounts of dirt and debris with the simple touch of a button. The powerful unit features innovative spinning side brushes that grab dirt and dust from corners and along wall edges, as well as two high-speed, counter-rotating brushes that pick up pet hair, cat litter, food crumbs, and other debris from floors. The vacuum sucks up the debris and deposits it into a large, easy-to-empty bagless dustbin, and its improved fine-filtration system traps dust, pollen, and other allergens inside the unit, reducing infiltration into the living environment. For added convenience, the vacuum's cleaning head automatically adjusts to transition from wood, tile, and linoleum to carpets and rugs, while improved anti-tangle technology ensures it won't get stuck on cords and rug fringe. If the unit begins to pick up a cord or carpet tassel, it will automatically reverse the direction of its brushes to extract the item. A gentle-touch bumper system senses obstacles so the vacuum automatically slows its approach, gently touches the obstacle, then redirects to continue cleaning under or around the object. Because it cleans under beds, couches, and other hard-to-reach areas, it actually vacuums more of the floor than a standard upright can. The vacuum also senses dirtier areas and spends more time cleaning them, and it uses built-in cliff sensors to avoid stairs and other drop-offs. In addition, invisible barriers can be set using the unit's Virtual Wall system. To mark off-limit areas, simply place a Virtual Wall at a doorway or other opening and adjust the infrared beam setting to the distance of the opening. The unit automatically detects the beam and will not cross it. My vehicles get a lot of sand, dirt, and small stones tracked into them. Those hand-held "pet hair" vacuums leave much of it behind. This vacuum was able to pick up all the little bits of gravel and sand on the floor boards.

Disagreements with negative reviews:
- I'm sensitive to noise, and I did not find this vacuum too noisy, especially when using it outdoors.
- It did not get uncomfortably or dangerously hot.
- I had no problem with the attachments falling off.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it did not come with filters (only bags). The manufacturer's product insert suggests buying filters to protect the engine. Good idea, so why didn't they include some with the vacuum?

Great suction power, light weight and does a very good job. I probably wouldn't buy the Vac N Blow, rather, just the Vac N Go, unless you want the pumping capability the "Blow" option offers. I would highly recommend it.

I found the product cumbursome to maneuver and the suction diminished after about 5 minutes of vacuuming. The hose wasn't long enough which caused the vacuum to get josteled around while I vacuumed. Using the attachments directly attached made it difficult to get around the tighter spaces. I was disppointed that it did not meet my expectation and I ended up returning it.

I was overwhelmed with lugging and carrying around and falling over my old heavy vacuum cleaner, so purchased this one. It's small, light weight (8 pounds), has three wheels and a lot of power, plus you can use the blower on the other end with or without attachments. So far, I am enjoying it very much. It cleans just as well as the larger one, is very mobile and easy to lift when going up the stairs.
